Calvary Ministries CAPRO is an non-denominational, international mission agency that started in Nigeria in 1975. CAPRO is focused on recruiting, training, sending apostolic teams to preach Jesus Christ and plant independent, virile and reproducing churches among verified unreached people groups (UPGs).
We are multicultural and multinational in staff membership; we currently have over 800 missionaries from over 27 countries or nationalities, a global network of partners, an organised network of CAPRO Sending Teams (CAST), and an array of skilled volunteers. Even though CAPRO is a non-denominational Agency, her missionaries, partners, and CAST teams are members of different existing local churches and denominations.
CAPRO teams currently operates in 46 countries, under 5 broad administrative regions, serving in various capacity and ministries. CAPRO has church planting teams in 43 out of the 46 countries of operation. We plan to plant 341 new churches by 2025 in addition to the existing 266 churches already planted among previously unreached people groups.
CAPRO defines an unreached people group as ethnolinguistic people with less than two percent evangelical Christian population. Currently there are 6,700 unreached people groups (UPGs) out of the total of 16,600in the world. They represent 3 billion people or 40% of the world’s population. Out of the 6,700 UPGs a total of 144 are unengaged and urgently in need of pioneer engagements.
