Introducing CAPRO Sending Teams (CAST)
CAPRO has a broad network of partners that identify and support our mission in several ways. We however have a network of organised partners known as the CAPRO Sending Teams (CAST).
The CAST function as the sending and support arm of Calvary Ministries CAPRO. It is an umbrella body comprising of different sending teams in any given locality or country. CAPRO Sending teams includ:
- Local CAPRO chapters
- CAPRO Mission. Prayer Cells.
- CAPRO Women in Mission (WIM).
- CAPRO Young Professionals in Missions (YPs).
- Mission Sending Force (MISEF) with Chapters in tertiary institutions etc.
- CAPRO IMPACT Teams (CIT)
CAST members are born again and spirit-filled Christians with a genuine passion and commitment for cross-cultural missions.
CAST groups are trained and chattered (licenced) to operate as CAPRO representatives in their respective localities and countries.
What is the task / mandate of CAPRO Sending Teams?
The task of CAST is strategic and critical for the success of our mission. They connect the frontiers of mission to the local Church. They bring the plight of Unreached People Groups into the forecourt of local congregations. CAST make periodic visits to mission fields, get directly involved in the life and work of missionaries. They mobilise Christians and Church congregation within their locality to partner through prayer, moral, financial and material support. CAST groups support their respective local chapter members as well as prospective CAST members and candidates who identify the call to serve as career missionaries.
How does CAPRO Sending Teams Operate?
CAST / Local Chapter adopt a chosen CAPRO country, mission field or project for focused engagement. They meet regularly for prayer and business. They offer their time, professional skills, spiritual gifts, creativity, strategic insights, financial and material resources to the mission. They also advocate for Unreached People Groups, share information and create mission awareness in the local churches. CAST members maintain good relationship with their own home churches as well as other Church congregations in their locality. They respectfully and lovingly confront the body of Christ with up-to-date information about situation of the harvest, the remaining unfinished task and resources needed to finish the work. The CAST group is therefore a service agency and not a social club. Additional activities of CAST are directed towards mobilising Churches and Christians in the area of coverage for evangelism in the locality. Thus, the CAST help its clientele to find expression for both local as well as international ministry.
In summary, while frontier missionary staff members of CAPRO generally seek to reach unreached peoples on the mission fields, CAST members of CAPRO seek to inform and educate Christians in their locality with the aim of mobilising them to contribute their God given potentials so as to accelerate and complete the task of the great commission.
CAST Membership – How can I become a member?
Becoming a CAST member is becoming a member of Calvary Ministries CAPRO and by direct implication, members become fully involved with the Mission.
A CAST member must be born-again; a holy spirit filled Christian and in good standing with his or her local Church.
